If you have the engine bay stuff removed, then the system is presumably evacuated already. You need to remove the kick panel to get to the evaporator plenum. Disconnect the two barrier hoses first. Then there are like 3 or 4 phillips head screws that hold the plenum assembly in place. There are also at least two, and maybe 3 or 4 electrical harnesses that have to be disconnected. Once you have all those items loose, it pretty much comes right out. The only other thing to be aware of is the HVAC ducting that attaches to the plenum, and the drain tube that goes through the floor, but both are just slip fits and easily come off once you start maneuvering the plenum assembly out from under the dash.

is step one taking loose the two large exposed fittings with red paint marks on them?

Yes, those are the two primary refrigerant lines. Just above and to the right of them is at least one 10mm bolt that holds the plenum to the bulkhead, and there are a couple of more screws or bolts on either side as well, then the electrical harnesses.

alright, i pulled everything out but i have a problem and a few questions:

1. is there a cover plate i should make or be looking for to go over the large oval hole where the AC ties in with the rest of the system?

2. should i make a bracket to hold the lower part of the dash on the passenger side or just leave it off? how is done on a factory AC free car?

3. there were two vacuum lines running to the evaporator, i currently have them hooked together, but is this something i can just follow to the source and plug?

Problem:

my blower motor no longer runs... Is there something that i need to do to make this work again or did i do something wrong? when i tool out the low pressure switch there was a non oem wire running to it and i followed it back all the way to the fuse panel. at the other end it was connected to a loose relay that was just stuffed above the panel. one of the wires one of the wires coming out of the relay was taped off, one went to the pressure switch, one went into the fuse panel, and the other looked like it had gotten pulled loose (i cant find where the other end was connected) ive known this relay was there for quite some time, and my blower motor has always worked with the one wire taped off and the other disconnected from the low pressure switch so i doubt this had any effect on my problem.

Is there anything i should be looking for?

Keep taking pictures, as my ac never really worked and I removed the engine bay stuff last year and need to do the under dash stuff eventually.

The blower motor should be on a separate circuit from the A/C fan relay, but it sounds like you've encountered a PO-special regarding the custom wiring job...that ought to be fun to chase down...

As for the kick panel, you can certainly run without it. Factory A/C delete cars have a little shelf that goes under the glove box, you might see if you can find one of those from somebody like DC Automotive or Parts Heaven. My Euro 931 is an A/C delete, and has one of these shelves...

does your factory ac delete car still have the ac plug under the driver side dash?

You'll have to separate the two vacuum lines and remove them, or plug them separately. If you hook them together (as I did when I deleted my AC), you won't get any airflow from your dash vents. It took me quite a while to figure that one out.

Also, I covered the oval hole in the ductwork with a piece of sheetmetal and duct tape. I was going to make a nice cover and pop-rivet it on there, but it's been holding for about 2 1/2 years, so I haven't messed with it.

wont get airflow or the blower wont turn on?

ive debated making a cover as well. cheap, easy, and no one will see it

I didn't get any airflow through the dash vents. The blower still worked through the floor vents and defrost.
