I may have found a source for first gear dogteeth for the g31 trans(the updated style with lockring), I e-mailed GPRparts ( go to http://www.GPRparts.com ). I received the dogteeth yesterday (after a delay from Canada Post) and will be installing them this weekend. I am not completely sure it will fit yet as I dont have the old dogteeth out to compare it to but it is visually identical.

Pat,
did this include the dogtooth gear and sliding sleeve and brake bands or was it just the dog tooth unit.
Do oyu have their part number to quote to them? |

The part was just the dogteeth, no synchro or sliding gear, but the one they sent has one less internal spline then the old dogteeth. I'm phoning them Monday to see if they have another interchangable dogtooth ring. The part number they sent me is a 915 part number and seems to be the same as Porsches. |

Is he kidding? Isn't the G31/32 the same as the infamous snail shell? |

Jeeze Louise. Ok, I'm going to order two.
I guess that pretty much makes our snail shells not only lighter, and good racer trannys, but also not too bad to maintain! Gears 2-5 are usually ok on these gearboxes. |
