OK, heres the story so far:
I have a 1989 944 S2, owned for about three years. Not long after I got it the missus drove it and damaged the AC compressor in a car park. She somehow hit it from underneath and cracked a mount. The AC DID still work though. The compressor was removed, I cut off the broen mount and fabricated a new one. AC was installed and regassed, all OK but I did feel it wasnt very cold but never really bothered because its a convertible.
So about 2 years later the AC became hardly effective at all, so I got a regas. The AC guy said that it was only about 1/2 full of gas but there was no evidance of leaks, espically because the old gas had a die in it. Fully charged the system and now it was better than ever!
One week later, no AC at all! Compressor will not engage at all. I ran 12v direct to the compressor and it engages and turns over no probs but not cold at all. The top hose gets slightly cold, but not really.
The receiver sight glass is green...
Its a hot summer over here and I would really like to get it going! any help greatly appriciated.
PS I have a full AC system that I pulled from the '24 race car. is much compatible?? _________________ Over the top of skyline, total brake failure.... hit the wall at over 200 kp/h at the dipper, so anyone who has to brake for the esses is a pussy.

There's a pressure switch that senses when the refrigerant is low, and keeps the compressor from kicking in (to prevent damage to it due to lack of lubricant (which is included in the refrigerant)).
-So, low refrigerant due to a leak accounts for your whole problem.. _________________ "..it's made in Germany. You know the Germans always make good stuff."

Do you guys know where the pressure switch is? Id like to test the theory... Just cant beleive that the gas leaked out in a week, espically when I cant see any die anywhere!!! Does make perfect sense though...

Are you using an ultraviolet light and goggles to see the dye? You can't see it with the naked eye at all... _________________ '80 924 Turbo - SOLD!
