hey guys just wondering how you can upgrade an old 1977 kjet unit to a unit from 1982? it seems to all fit, except for this one lead where i dont know where it is ment to go to?
any help wud be cool

so funny. maybe next time post only if you know what im talkin about, as someone who has seen an old unit would know that theres one difference between the new one. but keep ur skirts on and i will post a pic.

I'm guessing the difference he's talking about is the switch in the AFM that controls the fuel pump relay on the older cars.

Kind of hard to tell without pictures though.

The method of controlling the fuel pump (a safety feature to prevent pumping high pressure fuel around with the engine off in the event of some failure) is different between the years you are discussing. The old models have a switch that turn off the fuel pump if there is no air flow, whereas the newer models control this function via the RPM with a coil sensor.
