The car:
S1 931 ROW spec (M31.01 engine), snail-shell (G31.01) gearbox.

The goal:
Reliable daily driver with some descent performance. Five days a week to the work and two days for racing.

The way to reach the objectives:
- EFI&EDIS based on Abit 9.2.4 engine management system (yes, I like that version number!);
- CGT-spec turbo;
- FMIC with waterspray;
- Boost control by Abit EMS;
- Upgraded suspension;
- 951 brakes;
- Partially removed and lightened interior.

Mods already done:
Custom intake with side mounted throttle body. The reason not to go for a S2 intake was clearance issues and length of plumbing.
Pictures and some additional info can be found here: http://www.924board.org/viewtopic.php?p=250147
Got a fully rebuilt turbo K26-2664G6.91. In coupe with 931 exhaust housing and Blitz SS BOV it fits without any additional mods (pics will come soon).
FMIC is used from Mitsubishi Evo8 with some mods in caps and outlets to fit in front of radiator. It was selected as the best of the cheap parts available. It flows good for 240-290 hp, having a bit higher capacity then the 951 unit. The rad fan will be used from Mercedes W140 and placed before the sandwich. Currently the job is almost done, hope I'll be able to take some pics this week.
Fuel rail will be custom manufactured. Injectors I already have are ACCEL hi-impedance 48 lbs. A bit high-rated for my application but I use to think that they are good for further turbo upgrades.
Engine is almost stock, near a 10000 kilometers after a full rebuild. The only tuning there is MLS head gasket.

The brakes are laying on the shelf, they are from '86 951. I plan to install them just like Raceboy described in this thread.

I was thinking about a custom-made rally suspension, but finally decided to go with Koni Sport inserts/rears and somewhat 200-220 lbs front springs with matched t-bars. Also there will be PU bushings in the front wishbones.

I'll post some pictures this weekend. Since I have no place and tooling, all the works in engine bay are done by our local porsche-guru.

To be continued.

After a long break I returned to my 931. Made some oil lines and fitted the oil cooler into it's place.

After a long time I have a proof of concept - the car is in running condition for a full season with some minor issues (blown coolant pipes etc.), performed 219 hp at the wheels on the dino @ .75 bar of boost.
Pics and videos are coming soon.

Some history highlights of my project. Sorry for crappy photos.

2012-01-17: 931 went to our rally race team workshop. There it will be assembled.

2012-03-23: EFI sensors and wiring fully sorted. Have messed a lot with lancer evo intercooler but finally decided to record losses and bought a new one (cheap chinese with core size 450X300X72). Intercooler ports relocated, intake plumbing sorted.

2012-04-01: Got it running!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O_pRNZy3wRA

2012-05-09: Roughly tuned.
http://youtu.be/CdiOcDPUWmw

2012-09-29: Season closed...(((

Plans on winter: sort all bodywork issues, install fender flares to adopt fuchs wheels, respray car in Riviera Blue. Maybe replace K26 with GT28RS and tune to 17-18 psi, but it depends on budget.

Here's a thread about it: http://www.924board.org/viewtopic.php?p=250147
Finally don't sure if it performs better than stock, but it eases packaging in one way and complicates in another. It took too much time and effort to build and adopt this plenum, it's support, throttle linkage and so on.
