Hey all,

Finally landed back on this little rock last week and its time for an update on the seemingly never ending project.

Im not sure where I last left off but the new paint job had bubbled all over and there were a few other issues here and there.

Well since then I decided to get a GTS headlight kit from.. erm.. deuchesenine??

Since the car needed to be re-sprayed anyway it would have been too easy to simply fit the kit and be done with it. Instead I opted to mould the kit into the 1 piece front making no gaps all around (Cool huh?) and then making a groove for the perspex to slot right into in the front clip so it is all neat and smooth like the rest of the car with no gaps.

There are still a few odd jobs to be done but the end is now in sight.

The sound system is all setup and working nicely. DVD player/screen in front. 2 x Speakers in the front floor (Installed in sills) 2 x In the rear quarters and a sub in the boot along with a monster amp.

Last week all of the 944T suspension and brake bits arrived so that will be the next job to get onto as soon as it is back in the garage.

I got my calipers blasted and painted in yellow but somehow the clear instructions of MASK off the holes and bores was not clear so I am having the great joy of stripping paint out of these places carefully. New seals should arrive soon hopefully.

The parts are all from an 88 Turbo. I got hold of everything I could dream of needing.

Question for the informed:
Since I will need to put the 928 outside while I am doing the brake/suspension conv. How many hours would you say it would take to do the front/rear minus the new plumbing? (I can do this in the drive after)

I have everything from the alum rear arms downwards for the rear along with everything from the front alum A arms upwards for the front along with front and rear sway arms.

SHOUT OUT to SCORPIO! Is his car on the road yet?

Cheers all and enjoy your day,
SparkY

With any semi-major (even when its not) i like to have a good half day set aside for it.. Always seems like something goes wrong or gives me trouble with the damn 924 turbos.

I am very interested to hear whether you can get those lights to fit. The company says they are for 944 S2 and 951 only, which is a shame, because the quality looks from the pics to be unparalleled.

Pics, pics, pics!

Sparky,

The only issues i can think of that will cost you time are as follows:

The alloy A arms will not bolt up to the 924 steel x-member without some cutting/welding.

The alloy A arms will widen your track beyond the adjustment of the 924 track control/ball joints.

The 951 swaybar attaches to the frame rails differently so it's not a "bolt-in" upgrade on a pre-82' model 924.

And of course you will need late 944 front suspension struts in order to use the 88' 951 hubs/spindles.

I think all of the above has been covered here in one way or another over the years...

Cheers Rich and Boost for the estimated time. Now I can plan the conversion as and get this project back on coarse

YO Shawn and Rasta, Ill snap some pics up in the morning I have got them to fit and all moulded into the bodywork and already re-sprayed. The pics will make it more clear what I mean.

IIRC the kit I purchased from may have been for a 924. If you contact them they should clear this up. They are very helpful and easy to deal with to say the least..

Grenadiers, you definately dont want to know how much $$ went into the body so far if 580€ sounds expensive The lights are one of the nice finishing touches.

Cheers for the input IC932, thankfully though I do have all of the mention parts from the 88 951 over here too which should make my life easier.

Ill get those pics up for you guys soon..

Thanks for all the input!!!!

When I get the camera out I will take pics of all parts of the car as a bit has changed here and there..
