However, the 0.062" female replacement pins are about 1/4" too short!

Yes, those replacement pins don't hold themselves at the correct depth. To alleviate the situation- With the pin held in position near the front of the connector, apply a small glob of hot melt glue to the wire and connector at the back.

Even though this isn't a formal "how to" I'm going to put a copy of this in that forum so it doesn't get lost again.

Tip for the typical 924 owner, CHEAP but effective.

The thin walled tubing of a telescopic aerial gives a variety of sizes of pin extraction tools. Either from an old radio or an electronics shop for a few $ if they don`t carry the correct tools.

Yes the Amp pin tool #305183 works on the headlight motor connector - pops those suckas right outta there. I tried it on the wire connector only. If the motor side connectors' pins are removable, the same tool should work there too.

This is cool to find out as I have a busted (corroded) pin on my headlight motor harness (not the motor side). As far as a replacement pin, do any of the Porsche parts houses sell them, or is it a standard size pin? Trying to get my 1979 924 back on the road again. Thanks!
