ok you guys can laugh at me all you want, but im broke and im going to buy that eram or at least make my own or something similar to it but i have a question regarding installation. i did some searching on this site and found that the only electric super charger that may work is the E-ram.
See the picture below some guy installed one on a 924(electricsupercharger.com) we notice how he removed part of the air box and i guess some how stuck the intake into the mass senser plate area or i dont know what he did the pic is only in the front angle, so how did he do that and have it air tight? I hope that made sense. im not good at this stuff and i want to know how to do it properly before i start spending money

hahaha finally!!!
ok havent done it yet but what might work if you decide on the eram is removing the stock air filter and attaching the eram to the funnel part of the removeable section of the filter plastic..youll have to experiment a little. Looks to me as though that guy may have made his own plate to sit in the air box section with the pod filter connected onto a funnel on the plate..picture is kinda small.
I experimented a bit with this a while back but the 924 project got in the way
but if youre keen do what i did...buy the following off ebay
1) high powered brushless motor(pay attention to the kv value this tells you how many rpm the fan spins at per applied voltage) strongest motors are found on remote boats..mine hits 50000rpm on 12 volts
2) electronic speed controller (connects to motor controller and gives adjustable speed control..
3) brushless motor controller( takes current + and - from a power source..and translates it into the 3 wire input needed on the brushless motor.)
4)Ducted fan as used on remote fighter jets
5)some silicon hose and pvc piping
6) a throttle switch
7) wire mesh to prevent bits of your system flying into the system if anything breaks
Itll cost you around the $150 mark and youll be blowing more cfm at pressure then the eram... my $80 motor could run at 2400 watts and fits in the palm of my hand ..for comparisson the eram costs $330 and runs a 800 watt motor..whereas the super eram costs $600 and runs 1600 watts
let us know results and goodluck!
p.s be prepared for someone like rasta to wanna run you over in shaggy! _________________ 1979 NA

If you're broke, why are you going to spend money on something that time and again has proven to have ZERO positive effect on the performance of a 924, if anything degrade performance????
If you only have $150 to spend, go get all the stuff to do a proper tuneup.
If you have $300 to spend, go get all the stuff to refresh the suspension
If you have $600 to spend, you can do both and throw in a air freshener or something
Spending any money on ERAM or anything like it is the equivalent of taking that $150 and running it thru a paper shredder.
I'm not laughing, but I am shaking my head. Be sensible instead of impulsive and do something better with your money. _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

Other options:
- adjustable cam gear
- more aggressive cam
- free up some exhaust - port and polish or a new free flow exhaust
- MSD digital ignition might help
- methanol and water injection - then adjust your timing
- new rubber
...
...lots of options. _________________ 1980 924 turbo, MSD, Meth. Inj, otherwise stock. |

ok...on the list of things that can make your car faster i would add: throw out part of your interior...it will make the car faster and nimbler. _________________ Supercharger and EFI kits

Renew all of your vacuum hoses before you do anything... easy, cheap way to recover some lost ponies...
Oh, and what Rasta said...

If i attached it to the funnel part of the filter housing there probably will not be enough space to attach the cone filer, so thats probably what that guy did to save space which was to remove a part of the housing. i will look into those parts online or maybe a hobby store might have some parts.
i need my interior, and a little more push.
No cams, it cost 350+
my exhaust is pretty tight, i probably would get some hp if i port and polish but not thinking of that right now. oh btw i cleaned my mass flow sensor with some kind of specail spray, and believe it or not i felt a difference in acceleration. now i can at least keep up with the slowest car in traffic.
and i already gave my car a full tune up and replaced the small vaccum hoses but im sure its not perfectly air tight i have to go check it again.
and i also have my car tested on a CIS tester to check for any fault along the way before i buy those parts.
ill let you guyz know. _________________ 80' Porsche 924 NA - Slower then a S L O W

That looks like Martin's old car from Porsche924.co.uk. It was very shiney adn had a flux capacitor (I kid you not) He swore it made a difference at WOT but I maintain all it did was to compensate for the restriction it caused to the airflow.
It was professionally installed by the supplier but all they did was put a piece of plywood in place of the airbox and bolt the e-charger to it. It made a noise like a hoover and ran off a 20A fuse.
Math time:
20Amps x 12Volts = 240Watts! Wow!
Your vacuum cleaner = 1200Watts, which is 5 times more powerful - you can stall that with your hand...
2400Watts / 12Volts = 200 amps, must be getting near to cranking amps? Needs big cables and will kill batteries damn quick then sap engine power to recharge them.
Go figure. Spend you money elsewhere, or send it to me.
Dunno about your smog rules but I would have thought the best way of getting 35 bhp was to upgrade to RoW spec, +33% and the bits are common over here...

But think of the aerodynamics! At night, with the lights down you'll be just that much faster...! Vroom vroom...!! _________________ Whoever said you can't buy happiness forgot about Porsche!
