| If so, were they 1 way or 1.5 way? Viscous or clutch? Any other info is appreciated. |

Some did as a factory option but are as rare as rocking horse shit.
Clutch.
Search feature above using term LSD, etc will reveal more info. |

Most of this information has previously been posted, in considerable detail. You should really learn to search before starting a new thread for every thought you have.
It's not that we mind answering questions, I just wanted to point out that nearly all the info you have asked for is already available and would probably only take a few moments to search it out... _________________ '80 924 Turbo |

| I don't find the search as effective as asking a straight-forward question an getting a direct answer. |

951 LSD will swap right in... with 8 hrs of pro Porsche mechanic shop time.
Stock is a clutch pack, 40%, but can be changed with re-shimming. _________________ Vaughan Scott

Vaughan,
You're spot on of course, but i found the 944 box ratios to be a nightmare. Fine in 1st to 4th, but 5th is in another galaxy!!! Something like 52 mph diference from 4th. All other gears are spaced at about 32mph. I wondered why i couldn't pull 5th properly on the long tracks!! The reason i will use the 968 box is not so much for the 6th gear, but all gears are very equally spaced at 32-34mph. So even if i never use 6th, at least i will have a useable 5th!!
And regarding the 951 LSD, i would be amazed if the plates are still servicable after all this time. Whats the cost of new plates & springs??

Please explain. You are saying that a 951 or Audi V8 will fit into a 016 box I guess, since both are Audi? Will not fit into G31 I presume( then you need a 915)? _________________ Carl Fredrik Torkildsen

951 one will swap right in without any additional work required, but Audi V8 needs dealing with the bearing issue.
Yes, G31 needs either 915, 930 LSD (confirmed), or G50 (NOT confirmed). _________________ '83 924 2.6 16v Turbo, 470hp
