That really stinks, but as Brockoli said maybe you can do some upgrades.... Carrera GT, wide body, 944 flares, lots of cool options.

That sucks. It'll fix up when the cash is flowing. And your priorities with your child are in the right place.

In the meantime, is there a spot for the license plate on the John Deer?

Yeah I keep telling myself that. ... That Connor was not hurt and I was wise enough not to throw myself between it and the car. It did cave the side in a good 4 inches. But I manged to push that big dent out. It did crack the paint and it is creased there now.

So if I get some pictures up it will not look nearly as bad as it did. Ohy... plus the sickening sound when it hit and my head was within a foot of it.

Oh and I would not spray it myself... oh horrors... I suck at painting! It would look like a childs play thing then. Too bad because the rest of the car is practically mint and I am broke! No job... no money... no sweet looking ride... boo hoo.... but hell I was not crushed between the car and the mower! Things are looking up!

I had an ice covered branch fall on my wife's turbo Pt Cruiser while we were driving under it. It nearly
totaled the car. Could have killed us and our kids. Just finally got it back now about a month later. We
owned the car for less than a year and it was my wife's pride and Joy. I love the car too.
It is fully loaded has all the features I wanted. Sunroof multi disk changer, Turbo and it was the last year
they offered leather seats as standard. just finding a turbo with a sunroof for a 2004 is rare at least in my
area. That is part of what took so long. Had to wait for a new roof to be shipped from Detroit. We drove by
the shop week after week with that thing sitting out there looking so sad with the windshield smashed and
the roof cave in. It was heart breaking. It was like over 8,000 worth of damage. (we bought the car for
$10,000) Now it looks almost better than when we bought it and my wife is thrilled to have her car back.
The thing that hunted me is that I was thinking I should have stuck to the main roads but I thought no I
have good tires I’ve made it the back way before.

I don't worry too much about my 924 as I bought it with some dents and in need of some new paint. I
haven’t got as far as you had with my restoration. A accident like yours would most likely get me a new
paint job. (But I feel your pain. I would be devastated just the same) Now that my wife’s car is fixed I
cringe when the kids start doing stuff around it.

We got a new front bumper / spoiler front assembly. I was all excited as are old spoiler had been scraped
up from speed bumps and and parking curbs. with in the second or third day of having the car back I took
it to the car wash and forgot how deep the drainage channel is between the road and car wash exit is. You
guessed it scrape the new freshly painted spoiler. I kick my self for days after. You can’t really see it
unless you go looking under the car but it is just the fact that I just had it fixed that kills me.

After having the cruiser near totaled I decided insure the 924S for $7,000 stated. No sooner after, I
cracked the windshield while changing the wiper. Luckily I have full glass coverage. The downside is the
after market glass they put in not as good as the original. I am on my second one and it still has ripples in
it. I am waiting to see if they can get one from a different company. They also recked my mirror.

So sorry about you car I know how it feels. The important thing is that no one got injured and your son
knows he is still loved.

Things will turn around and it is a good opportunity to show your son how much more he means to you.

Man that sucks about your PT. Glad no one was hurt though.

Yeah I went down and looked at it again today. The major dent is gone but the area is all wavy. Ah well.

I am going up to read to my Son. He does feel bad and I know he knows I feel bad and wants to make up for it... so that is good enough for me.

I will post pictures later but you will all likey tease me for making a big deal out of nothing... because I can not actually seem to show the damage in the pictures. Looks like two small dents but it is all wavy and creased in an otherwise mint quarter.

Ah well.

Thanks all. You guys are the best. Made me feel much better about having a lawn mower slammed into the side of my pride and joy!

Yeah making your son feel bad will just make you feel worse. Sorry to hear about the damage and your hard times but with an attitude like yours you're already ahead of the game. What's your field? Can you farm yourself out at a local hardware store etc?

P.S. I dented the top of my 924 giving it a love tap. Man did I feel stupid.

Heck, my 2-year old son took a piece of 80 grit sandpaper to the side of my "new" red 924S the day after I brought it home. He saw me sanding some rust off the lower front valance and thought he would help...

After I screamed like a little girl and grabbed the sandpaper, I had to give him a big hug. He just loves the car and wants to help me... I can't keep him out of the car when I'm working on it.

Dents and scratched paint can be fixed - kids will only grow up. Enjoy them while you can.
