I think I kind of have the same feelings as most here.
If Porsche were to come out with a modern 924 I would of course like it. I had a 924 when they came out with the 924S. I loved the 924S then. I used to go to the local Porsche dealership and sit in one then. It was white with the same wheels I have on mine now (928 flat dish style). Man it was sweet!
However as others have pointed out it would be way expensive and likely none of us would pony up the money for it. It would need to have the 968 motor and get 30 plus mpg to be special enough to catch the press and our attension. Also I guess if it were a flex fuel vehicle that would help. I know Porsche had developed a methonal (sp) version of the 924 back in the day.
Ah well I love the 924 shape and concept. Even though the press was tough on it ... the car was one of Porsches most sucessful models and is a great little car. _________________ 1982 924

well with rumores of a New 928 coming out it might be posible depending on how seccefull the 928 does. but my bet is that they would do a new 944 turbo or 968 before reisuing a 924. If they did do a new 924 it would probably look like a sleaker 968. defintely more rounded than the orgional. it would be interesting to see but most likely out of our price range unless Porsche desides to expand it's market to compeat with Honda. You could always try dropping a caymen motor in your 924 to start getting the feel for what it might be like. not sure it would fit. But that could be a fun project to try. _________________ Red 1987 924S with plans for D Productions Kit

Hmm, you might be able to get it in the cargo area if you folded the seat down. . . _________________ Toofah King Bad

might just work. Take out the rear seats and build an engine housing and the mid engine 924 is born. Finaly the 924 has a shot at being considered a "True Porsche" oh but wait it would still be water cooled _________________ Red 1987 924S with plans for D Productions Kit
