My dream combination (after you've thrown in the oval dash from a late 944!) _________________ 1985 Porsche 924 'Lux', Kalahari Beige (my ex)

Yeah... my attitude towards seats is that they're somewhere to park your a$$/ar$e while driving...
Don't know for sure on the dash front. My feeling is that it should be a straight swap, beacuse the frame/firewall is pretty much the same on all models. Be quite a bit of work anyway, wiring it all up again though... _________________ 1985 Porsche 924 'Lux', Kalahari Beige (my ex)

I had a little tear up with one of these at Bedford Autodrome last year. Was a very impressive performer. had tons of torque coming out of the corners, but my little screamer would whip by on the straighs, once the turbo spooled up. For a sleeper car, this is a great combo. And speaking to the owner, was a very easy job to do.

here is one from Alabama
http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2574674
He has A 951 transmission in it and bigger brakes. 200 HP straight off but than did some mods and got it up to 220 HP. I think it would be possible to get some similar HP out of the 2.5 with some work. The 2.0L DP moters did 180HP without supercharging so I am sure some reworking of the pistons could bring the 2.5L up while keeping the weight down. But that might limit some of the events that you could compete in. Some of those 2.5L light wieght racing motors are impresive but for the cost of one of those you can by a whole 944 turbo. Find a recked 944 turbo and do a transplant. That would be a seriouse flying machine.
I saw pics some where of such a beast. I think it was a 3.0L Turbo with the oval dash transplanted into a 924 S. can't find the site now. _________________ Red 1987 924S with plans for D Productions Kit
