What is the proper way to do this?

You don't say why you wan't to do this ?. Remember that if you ground the overboost switch then you will have no protection for your engine if the Turbo boost climbs too high ..... BANG !
But, to answer your question, The Overboost switch is located half way along the Charge tube (Tube between Turbo to Throttle body with '924Turbo' written on it). There is a single wire connected to it, pull it off and you will see that it actually just a female. spade connector (0.25 inch). Make up a length of wire with one end terminated in a male spade connector (0.25 inch) and the other end of the wire a ring washer connector. Clamp the ring end under the bolt connecting the Charge tube to the throttle body bracket - any good ground point will do.
I Hope this helps for diagnosing a problem, but please don't make this a permanent condition, get a new overboost switch, they are very cheap.

Mine is done just like Kevin described, except I rand the wire connector to an unused threaded hole in the block right in front of the charge tube, and installed a short bolt to hold it. |
