|
|
Hi!
I thought it would be nice to collect some photos of all the factory colors for the 924. I know we have lists and color online and paintscratch and so on, but they are all useless in one pretty important aspect: you don't actually see the color..
So this is an invitation for everyone to post pictures of your factory colored car. Please post even if we already have pictures of your particular color, because the more pics, the best.. (As Khal stated the colors on the photos may be off, so the more sources we have, the more we can be sure about the color..)
Also provide different angles, if you can.
For a start, i'll share what i'v found out so far, i'll post the identified colors with codes in chronological order. This site is my reference for the colors.
A lot of these pics are from the 924 registry.
If anyone has a correction or would like a photo to be removed, please let me know.

Just a heads-up...
Scanners (and hence, scanned photo's), LCD monitors/screens (monitors/screens in general, really) and digital photo's are notorious for not being 100% colour-correct. This probably isn't a big problem when you're comparing something obvious like, say, red and green. But subtle differences between shades of red, for example, can be either lost or exaggerated when using these devices (LCD's are especially poor at displaying reds, I've been told).
I only note this because you mentioned in another thread that there are something like eight separate shades of red in the Porsche range. If any or all of these colours are quite similar, then photo's here might be slightly misleading. Again, not necessarily a big problem but just something to be aware of. _________________ '80 924 Turbo |

Khal, you are perfectly right, but then again it's the same thing in nearly every part of the choose-the-right-color-for-your-car scheme.. Today i went to the paint shop and the color they showed me on the chip was by far not one i got in the can..
So i might write some 'warning - misleading content' in the header, but still it can be a pretty good reference i think. |

You might want to put these in the posts where they belong, my 1980 924 in Saturn metallic.
