Will 944 wheels (15" 7J phone dail wheels) fit my 924 turbo (79' 5-stud) without the use of spacers ?

There are two types of 944 'phonedial' wheels. If you select the up to 85.5 year models then they are a straight bolt on fit - the early 944s after all had identical suspension to 924Ts. Another straight bolt on fit are 'cookie cutters from the same years.

No, wheels from an early 944 will not fit on a 924 turbo. Wheels for a 924 turbo have an offset of 52 mm and wheels for 944 before -87 has an offset of 23 mm (944 has a wider track!).

Wheels from -87 and later, with a higher offset, will fit perfectly.

just pay attention to the offset as maxx stated, you'll be fine, and yes they do come in 15 (on my 924S)

Sorry guys - you are so right. Too late at night when I wrote that. Just got so excited - kinda like premature vocalisation. Only had to walk into my workshop to confirm. Forgot that operative word 'spacers'. Mea Culpa.
Cheers Pete

after some research:

924 turbo 15x6J offset 53 (spiderweb wheels)
924 S phone dail 15x6J or 15x7J offset 52,3
944 I phone dail 15x7J offset 23,3
944 II phone dail 15x7J offset 52,3

So I need 944 II or 924 S, of course I will look for the wide 7J ones.

Does 944 II have a different offset front/ rear ?

I think some had an offset of 10 in the rear (turbo? S?).

All the late model 87+ 944s had 52.3mm offset front and rear.

Early offset 944 wheels fit just fine on 924 Turbo, of course it depends on the width of the rim/tire.

Well I want 7J wheels, the 6J spiderweb wheels are to small for my slicks.

I think the telephone dail 944 S2 wheels will be the best option for track use, don't you think ?

I want to stick to 15" because I have all my slicks/ rain tires in that size.

On the track you want as much track as you can. In case of 7", early offset wheels should fit fine.

That is correct! I run 15x7" Cookie Cutters ET23 with 205/50-15 R-tires for track use. It fills out the body nicely but you might need some tracksettings (which I have on my car) for the camber for them to stay within the wheelarches.
