what is the profile of the camshaft on the 944t like compared to that on my 87 924s? i know these cars don't react very well to bolt on performance, but i know there are some instances (such as using an old 924 distributer on a newer 924...). where you can achieve some improvements. are there any mods like this for the 924s? ive tried searching this guys, honestly i have! _________________ -Jason

There are no cheap improvements you can make to the car to get a real performance improvement. EXCEPT, making sure that the car is up to date on ALL Scheduled Maintenance, and everything under the hood is in good working condition, and adjusted properly.
An aftermarket Throttle Response Cam can make the engine feel more responsive, but will not change the engine output. |

yeah, i know these cars are already pretty well tuned from the factory, and honestly i'm fine with the power. guess im just carrying baggage from my 78 924na (i was about to get a turbo head for it, because they flowed better...). And im not too sure about the throttle response cam... wouldnt it make the car a little more difficult in trafic? or not? thanks for the response man. _________________ -Jason

| The throttle response cam works well. It doesn't cause any difficulty in traffic. It just lets the throttle get to wide-open quicker. The stock ones have a lobe that prevents them from opening quickly. |

The below site defines the stock 944 cams and a few possible performance grinds.
