Finally extracted my finger and done some work on the EFI.
The plan is to MS the basic N/A. No real point, but I just want to.
Before:
The overall view:
Fuel Rail view:
Induction side:
Lambda sender is fitted into a boss brazed into the exhaust
Air temp sender is in the hard plastic pipe with the yellow sticker on
Coolant sender will be in the TTS hole with an appropriate adapter
Fuel pressure regulator will be somewhere near the coil (TBC)
MS will be under the dash on the pax side
Lots of wiring still to do!!

Good stuff, Rich!
What fuel rail are you using? How well does the spacing match up to the injector ports?
How did you source the other parts, injectors, senders, etc?
If the parts are easily obtainable, I might have a go at this myself... _________________ 1985 Porsche 924 'Lux', Kalahari Beige (my ex)

Er...just a thought: what are you using for a flow meter?
Or is it all done on a throttle position pot.? _________________ 1985 Porsche 924 'Lux', Kalahari Beige (my ex)

megasquirt uses MAP, it doesn't require a flow meter.

You don't have to use ANY adapter, just buy VAG coolant temp unit with suitable thread. New costs around 10$. _________________ '83 924 2.6 16v Turbo, 470hp

I did look for one but couldn't find one in the UK at a sensible price, sender was only £4 and the adapter £5, bit more, but not enough to worry about!
The fuel rail is a Mk3 Mondeo 1.8 or 2 L Duratec rail, lines up exactly, got it off E-Bay for £20 including the injectors still sealed in the box from Ford! God knows how much ford would want!
I drilled the injector ports with a 14mm (IIRC) drill, to make a recess for the injector seals, I didn't go right through so the O ring has a proper seat. (Sort of)
My big idea was to make sure that it would be reversible. If I decide I want to sell the car the CIS can go back on and the MS can be sold seperate. The only permanent mods are drilling the head (The plastic bungs and the injectors can be refitted easily, as I didn't go right through to the inlet port, the injectors don't rattle about) and a few minor bits like brackets and a bulkhead hole for the wiring (When I get it done!)
Any top tips for getting a base map sorted so it'll start?
Cheers

Start with the default map. It's usually remarkably close. Blew my mind the first time I setup MS. Gunna setup EDIS on it? Ditch the distributor.. I was planning on doing this same thing to my 924 right up until I did the compression test.. _________________ Brian near Seattle, WA

Cheers I'll try that, problem is I don't know how big my injectors are, no one seems to know and Bosch don't answer their e-mails
Comp test was 185 psi across the board
EDIS will be next, but I'm skint (=broke) for a bit so it will have to wait.
I do have an EDIS coil pack and crank sender but I'm missing the trigger wheel and the control unit.

Rich, what colour are the tops?
Have you searched the net for the stock injector sizes for that car? _________________ 3 928s, |

They are black all over, moulded in one piece.
I have tried searching for the standard fitment but not found anything! I have tried the part numbers and variations on the part numbers but no joy.
They are off a 2L so they should have the capacity, but no idea how much spare.

It will deliver very little but the experience of doing it!
The plan will eventually incorperate throttle bodies for more power but that is waaay off at the moment. I wanted to know if I could do it really. No real reason.
I suspect it will liberate a few more ponies and hopefully better fuel economy. Rememeber its getting on for £1 a liter for gas here, how do you guys fancy $8 a gallon! 30 miles per (imperial) gallon is ok but expensive! The Elise does 45 mpg on a good run _________________ 1994 Lotus Esprit S4 - Work in progress...

the air flow meter plate is removed so you should have much better flow. You might get a few more HP because of this, although I guess the cylinder head is a bottleneck. If nothing else, you should get a nice intake note. I like your project. I probably wont be doing this on a 924 but I have a carburated bmw 2002 that I'll be probably eventually be doing this on (once the body work is done). _________________ 1980 Porsche 924 N/A USA

This'll get you started!
Hint: when you get short of cash for the 924 project, sell the Elise! _________________ 1985 Porsche 924 'Lux', Kalahari Beige (my ex)

Can't sell the elise, it starts every time and has cost me less in maintenance than the 924 over the last 6 months too...
