Hi There, I just came back from abroad and now all messages have been lost including
my question about the pulling bracket.
I wanted to ask if it was possible to put a
pulling bracket on a 924 or 933, and if this was something that only a porsche dealer can
be trusted to do. Also would it affect the condition of the gear and the engine if you would
pull a small boat of =- 400 kgs on a trailer ??
Sorry that i have to ask the same question twice.....

Porsche I don't believe offered a pulling kit , but aftermarket companies did but it isn't recommended for much weight . Check with Porsche first to see if it was offered. I would think the same bracket would fit a 944 so look there to. You are going to see some exta wear and maintenance on the car but it shouldn't be too much trouble. Just remember though that the car is only 2800Lbs and you must look at the brakes in stopping the car and load. I think your boat may be too much weight.

The spec book says: permitted trailer load unbraked - 500 kg, permitted trailer load braked - 800 kg, and permitted towing weight - 2200kg, for 'Row' (rest of world). For USA permitted towing weight spec only is give: 2200kg/4850 lbs. Or about 1500 lb trailer. Much higher than I would want to pull with a little 3000 lb car.
