Hi this is my first 81 PORSCHE 924 and my first car and I love her truly :p
And this is my first post in here! my PORSCHE is in a pretty good shape no rust, but having some smal problems with the engine, but with time that will be ok.
The seats are remade. post some pics later. Now I'm starting to make that the car sounds good first, puting in some speakers and a subwoofer ... later a tweeter. and I'm rebuilding the whole interiour with fiberglas and alu, I hope it will be done till the middle of september.
I know its asked several times! but I will put it different
I want to gain some power ! I would love to and I will race in some drags or just 1 vs 1 . I know all about that that it wont be cheap and the result wont be superb fast, but I want to do something !!!
not to compeate with new Accords or like turbo racing cars. Just to have some fun and to beat some :p or hopefully alot of other 2.0 non turbo cars !
If I would say that I could give like 500 pounds on the performance tuning what would you sugest like with advices and prices?
and what for chanses you give me beating a:
91 BMW E30
an newer 320 or 325 ?
a ford probe or all these mitsubishi, mazdas RX MX ofcourse not the new ones
maby some cars what you have beaten ?
I have some overall questions about the 924:
1) average how much time does it take from 0 - 60km/h how much from 0 - 100km/h
2) how much time for driving 200m how much for 500 ?
3) how fast can it go ? like in km/h ?
a very very long post! but please some coments
and what do you say about the color and ad on parts ???

Well, you seem to be very excited about your new car. That's good.
But I think 924 is all about handling, not drag racing.
Best performance gain would be loosing weight. So definitely say no to subwoofers. Instead remove back seat, spare wheel etc.
lighter= faster
Also first you should check that your engine is running as it ran when it left the factory in 1981.
There is no point trying to add any performance parts before you have sorted out you small engine problems.
For the european 125hp model factory stated 9,6 second from 0-100km/h or 0-62mph. Some old car magazines have recorded it even under nine seconds. It's an old car, not a rocket. _________________ Mikko

Thanks for the info 9XX !
Yes Im more than very axcited!
Actiually I know what to do to gain HP I'll make a new topi about my idea.
i wont say NO to the subwoofer
well the small problems are with the regulation of fuel and air probobly te injector. - its sometimes very hard to get it runin when the car engine is hot.
and itstinks like burning oil when i drive in the car, but i have just to change the ruber thingies _________________ Porscheeeee |

Nice to see someone excited about his 924, but racing... like 9xx sais, first be sure that she runs like in 1981, and don't forget , it's an old but proud lady (mine is from 1983) who wants that we take care of her. Here in Belgium , on the circuit of Francorchamps there are sometimes races with 924 24S 44 ... but they are no morte the original cars when you look closer. It's up to you to make the choice, restore her originally like I did mine and enjoy this superb car for many years in even daily use or "force" her with all the risks of costs and so on...
But anyway, have lots of fun....
Oh yes on circuit (Zolder Belgium) mine has got to 193 km/h on chrono, at 5800/6000 tr/min.
0 to 100 in 9 sec is quite possible, but don't forget that the 924 gets a lot of his performance thanks to her CX of 0.31 (don't forget we have 125 hp and a 2 l, not more originally) so the wind/weather plays part.I did this once normally I treat her with "kindness" because it's a great car for touring, day out and so one. _________________ Frank, Belgium
