Did you see todays thread?
TMS951 called me out.
He has: Scott Gomes (under pressure) Tec 3, t63, 2.8 - he spools 1000 rpm before me and has more (static ) displacement.
He dynoed 413 RWHP/419 RWTQ on low boost.
Both cars have tuned/balanced racing suspension (ZERO weight transfer) - mine has Escorts. Should make things exiting.
He wll probably get me to 1/2 track, but let's see what happens when the Defi-D guage hits the stopper.
We are running at Lebanon Valley dragway on 7/11 evening.
It looks like unlimited fuel and boost and street tires.
I will run C16 and some CRAZY-ASS boost.
About 10 guys are going to video it.
All Porsce guys invited!! _________________ 951 566/485 HP/TQ at the wheels - pump gas

A car I truly love
I am currently planning on a s/c- turbo combo using turbo (big) off a powerstroke. It should be able to build some real crazy boost.
Currently I am runnign 12psi with my pulley. I am looking to get a little crazy with it.
I have couple of questions.
What mods have been done to the block?
If you had the choice of a sleeved block vs what you have which would you choose? I am curious b/c I can get a done(sleeved) block now and I am not sure what kinid of cyl pressures these can hold without real modification.
Where did you get the cometic (currently running widefire)
what kind of EGT's are you seeing at full boost? I tune using them myself and am curious.
Pistons? 951 I assume? |

The 944 has a lot of classic tuning issues, but there is nothing wrong with the block, or with the head fastening system.
You must pay particular attention to backpressure with these cars because there is only 1 cam - and with any overlap, the exhaust comes back into the chamber - when that happens, 1,000 octane won't help you.
My pistons and crank are stock, everything else is modified.
I believe that the alusil is more durable than ANY sleeved block available for the 944 - look at the history.
My EGT's are VERY low because I am currently running a huge turbo (turbine and ex. hausing) and I use a ton of advance.
My last turbo, which produced the dyno proven power in my sig. caused high backpressure, but spooled very fast - always a compromise. _________________ 951 566/485 HP/TQ at the wheels - pump gas

Do you mind letting me know your cam specs? Like lobe centers and overlap degrees?
I am also curious what amount of timing you are running. I run about 23-25 degrees myself and will most likey drop it down some when I get some more air flowing through it. By somes accounts it should have blown up long ago with the dgree of advance Im running but with meth injection anfd E85 for fuel I think it holds very weel it seems very unstressed.
I really do plan on boosting the crap outa this thing and since you are obviously already there any additional information would be helpful
TIA

Why??
Why not the factory 951 - so easy for you, and VERY high quality.
I put 533 hp at the wheels through a stock 951 ic. _________________ 951 566/485 HP/TQ at the wheels - pump gas

you should redo your manifold so the A/W IC is build right in and the blower bolts the manifold. if you can turn the SC so the charge side blow toward the hood you should have tons of room.
also might make the under the hood look a little cleaner with the same performance, or better with the IC. just my .02
Both cars look like they have awesome setups.
special too water will absorb 4 time the amount of heat air will, ant the A/W will keep the plumbing shorter and less lag. i know its a SC and there is pretty much not lag anyways. |

Keaton I had thought of that initially.
As of now I am the plan is to run a big turbo as well as the s/c we'll see how long that holds out. So I will try to get the best IC I can either build or buy. I'm a cheap SOB
I should be able to find my weak links |

Keaton,
water may abosorb 4x the heat that air will, but you then have to cool the water down with air, therefor you have 2 thermal heat exchanges, and you end up with much more residual heat, plus a air air intercooler even at 4x the size is still lighter than an air/water IC once you factor in water, pump, heat exchanger etc. _________________ 3 928s, |

Lizard I agree with all points.
I am looking at it in a drag race standpoint with the other fun factors of this car.
If I run an A-W cooler I can run the pump and fan between rounds and have my ambients way down for the next run. Whereas with A-A it acts like a heat sink when not moving and my next run may or may not be as good depending on outside temps.
BTW I am not building a drag specific car here (been there done that) just taking it up once in a while for the fun of it.
So far it has ran a 14.09 at 5800 ft w/o my meth injection working properly(out of methanol_long story_ had to use windshield washer fluid and back timing down ). The way I see it it is running better than stock 951's right now with a whole lot more to go
it's a whole lot more fun than the NA 17 second power up here |

If your talking about Dan (dally de)
his car is going to be one sweet ass ride
He is doign everything needed to be able to run some real boost outa that thing and it didn't sound initially like that was the intention.
Tell him hello 4 me |
