As the title says...
....the first time i did not even got it of the elevator as it was clearly too low. Second time i got it off and it was realy realy low...i bearly got it back on the elevator. the fender was 3 cm over the wheels.
This is my third time...i hope lucky one.
I used two bolt holes to compare the distance from the trailing blade to the upper blade(the one that goes onto the chasis and has a rubber part on top) i measured the distance from the eccentric bolt hole to the hole of the upper blade and originaly was 27cm. so i set it tp 25.5cm the first time...no chance...then i set it to 27cm thinking that it will restore the stock height...but heck no....now i've set that distance to 30cm and the lower aluminium spacer (small oval one) does not fit anymore...i mounted the blades without the spacers now. hope its ok this time.
The problem is that the torsion bars are still the 924 ones and the trailin blades are longer so the force on the torsion bars is bigger....or i just set everything wrong...
PS: i have 23mm torsion bars.
so...anyone.. ? help !! _________________ Supercharger and EFI kits

And here I thought you dropped a torsion bar on yourself or something. Unfortunately I don't know the answer to your question though.

Did you download and read this yet? It seems very well explained.

ok i knew all that in that file and i still messed it up.
I had 2 attemts in corectly setting the height. so i reindexed 2 times until now..
Tomorow i try the third time.
I have 23mm torsion bars. But i had steel arms and SHORT trailing blades.
I had to change the trailing blades to be able to use my new aluminium arms. So when i removed the end cap the torsion bars fell out of their inner place. nothing bad here as i mesured one distance that should have helped me.
I have traced the distance that i toutght that it will help me. But it did not.
The original index was 27 so i wanted to lower the car a bit so i set 25...but the elevator cant even be pulled from under the car. so i put 27 back but the elevator comes out very hard from under the car and the car is VERY LOW. i've set it to 30cm now(that distance) but did not have the time to mount the torsion housing back on the car. _________________ Supercharger and EFI kits

the reason why the original index was so low is because the trailing arm is longer now and the force that directly applys on the torsion bar is bigger. at least thats what i think.
However there is something wrong with this as the lower rear bolt that uses a small(oval) aluminium spacer now cannot use that spacer anymore as it does not fit because of the trailing blade position being way too up. The ride height is all in the algular position of the end-cap(trailing blade to the torsion bar housing and the best way to mark this is by using the upper blade hole.
So the tooth-angle thing is no help to me now as i now need to set the relationship between the trailing balde and the upper blade(the one that only has one bolt going trough it).
So...any toughts? _________________ Supercharger and EFI kits

You need to start all over again. Get the body level on level surface! Measure the rear panel under the spring plate cap( where the Tbars are) at 6 inches on both sides then set the bars and drop it. Then go from that height.....This is if I am reading the post correct, some words have me scratching my head....hummm?

ok so aparently i got it right the 3rd time. I droped it and left it for around 10 minutes to sit and it looked ok. I havent driven it around yet because i still have stuff to do to the car. I hope it does not get lower than that. the distance between the rear wheels and the rear arches was 1.5 cm after 10 minutes of just sitting.
The thing that i dont understand is:
do i need to manualy load the trailing blades to be able to fit that small aluminium spacer ? before i swaped the trailing blades that spacer fited in its place very easy. But now with this setup i could not fit that spacer because of the trailing blade being so low.
aparently using these parts this is the maximum height that can be achieved because one more tooth on any of the sides of the torsion bars and the 4th bolt(the one that holds the trailing arm loaded) does not fit in its place and efcourse there is no way one could press the trailing arm up. _________________ Supercharger and EFI kits

Is this a coversion? Early to late...924 to 924S? It is all nuts and bolts all should fit together nicely. Make it easy....cut the cap off the spring plate drill a 3/8 hole in the T bars then tap it to a bolt size. Screw it in and pull the T bars out/in without unmounting the plate. Also sound like the torsion tube is not fully forward on it's perches...dead center of the TTube. This could cause a mismatch on the rear arm mount/washer you speak of. The only other thought is the eccentrics themselves, are they the originals? Memory tells me I had to buy different ones when I lowered my 924S....? _________________ Dal Glassinger |

yea this is a conversion.
the setup before used 23mm torsion bars with steel arms and short trailing blades.
the new setup uses the same bars but longer trailing blades and S2 aluminium arms. The problem is that the car sits very very low...at least it did before. Now its ok. I will check it again on monday and maby take some pictures. _________________ Supercharger and EFI kits

ok so i can say that i did it...its final...the height is exactly what i wanted. Took me 3 times to get the corect height(as mentioned in any tutorial).
First time it was way too low...second time it was low(see pciture1)
the final adjustment got me the desired height:
Now i have long aluminium arms on the rear and i got rid of those heavy iron spacers and a shit load of weight. All the aluminium suspension weights as one steel arm alone !!!
and umm...check out my new Turbo S stoplights.
