Here's the pic:
I previously replaced the #34 in the lower right (PET lists three of these per vehicle). #33 blew up at the track on Friday, so I wanted to replace #s 33, 34, and 36 that are circled above. The rub is that only 34 is in stock, 33 is from Germany only, and 36 is discontinued.
Anyone know whether these goddamn things are "close enough" just to use #34 for all locations?
TIA

| If I'm looking at that correctly, 34 is the hose off the thermostat housind bottom correct? If it is, then it tapers from a larger size to a much smaller size. So in that case it wouldn't work as I think thats the only one. I've got a question though. In a trackcar with no heater, does one even need that transfer tube to the back of the head or does it complete the circuit for cooling? I'd like to block the whole works off and just plum the back of the head with a tepm sender if so. Any thoughts?? |

They're all intake lines. The 34 in the upper left goes to AAV. _________________ Toofah King Bad

I wouldn't call them close enough.
When I needed some and saw the prices I didn't even try to get OE replacements. I just took one of each size used elbow down to the flAs (friendly local Autozone store) and asked the nice man behind the counter if I could go back to that sacred employees only area where the assorted heater and coolant hoses were hanging. You'll save some money and also find some with 2 90 degree bends, so you get 2 for the price of one in those cases on top of the already lower price. You may not find all exact sizes, but can get close enough with what they have if they have a good selection stocked. _________________ "..it's made in Germany. | I second Smoothie's suggestion. I have done it several times with excellent results. Autozone had no problem allowing me to sort through the many hoses, as long as I didn't mix up the stock. Worked liked a charm. |

I bought a stack of 1/2" (I think?) 90-degree silicone hose elbows from Racer Parts Wholesale, trimmed them to fit, worked great and I was able to use the extra straight bits for other spots needed replacements. _________________ Vaughan Scott
