So, the powers that be tell me we MIGHT be able to add this cool new feature IF we can drum up some more support. I didn't get a clear indication of HOW MUCH support is enough, but it seems that a few more responses are warranted. Anyone else??? C'mon there's got to be a few more folks interested in actually DRIVING!
Or are we all too busy wrenchin' and bench racing? If so, maybe we should put a fork in it and move on to the next idea??? _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

C'mon, Peter. Of 2776 registered users, 866 have zero posts, more than half (1393) have 2 posts or fewer, and only 311 have 50 posts or more. . .so ten votes is pretty solid!

Looks to me like the current 81% support for the idea should be good enough to give it a go!
But, I don't hold much sway here. _________________ 78 924 NA

Ok so if we only consider the 300+ "regulars" then 15 votes may be enough to get a president into office but you can do better that that
Of course if you can get George Dubya's daddy to bribe me then you're in.
How about an example of what you want to put in this new section? _________________ 1979 924 (Gone to a better place)

I guess these would be DOT's version of cool drives - http://www.byways.org/
Though I couldn't help but notice there are none in NJ. Hello? "the NJ Turnpike"? - some of the most fascinating views along its' northern stretch of refineries and giant stinky flames atop high towers. BTW, anybody know what they're for? -Or are they as I suspect just beautiful decorations..
And what's up with Texas? ..Nothing there over such a large expanse of real estate? No way - they must have refineries just as pretty and more plentiful than tiny NJ. -And what about Hawaii? Then again, it would be tough to drive to anyway. _________________ "..it's made in Germany. You know the Germans always make good stuff."

This is a grand idea. There's a lot of cool drives here in
Oregon then again there's an awful lot of potholes
and monkey drivers too. Oh well at least I'm happy to say
the cool drives out weighs all the monkey people dodging
pot holes driving after eating bananas. .. I say make it happen fellas. _________________ 1979 porsche 924 Na

For the past few years I have had the pleaseure of co-organizing a driving event for my British car. It is a charity event called The America's British Reliability Run ( www.abrr.org ) and it is modeled after events in the UK. It is a 700-800 mile two day event where teams work to raise money for selected childrens charities.
I would be more than happy to share the routes with this forum. Last year the route went though Ohio, West Virginia and Kentucky. This year the route will pass thought Ohio, PA, W. Va, Maryland and Virginia. It is all secondary roads with the fixins' for sports car driving.
Later this summer we are planning a trip from Ohio to Oregon in the Porsche. Should be fun.
All my cars are for driving. |

Stay in touch, man, we'll buy you a beer when you get here. Also, you may wish to consider one of the two historic races at PIR: 7/6-8 and 9/1-3. Camping, great people, cool cars & great fun. _________________ Toofah King Bad
