I've searched the forums and only found some parts of information of the particulars for the fittings used to connect the fuel hoses and lines at the fuel tank together. I don't really feel like paying Porsche $300 (although they were nice enough to let me own one of thier automobiles) for about 5 feet of hose and connectors so I am lookng for the fittings. I know I'm not the first one to do this so if anyone who has done this before could help me out I would appreciate it.

Starting with 477 209 093A (secondary pump to accum.) the end that is on the pump is a metric banjo fitting and the other is a 90 degree M14 x 1.5 DIN 7631 fitting, not a big deal. Next we have 477 209 047B (Accum. to supply line) that has a 90 degree M14 x 1.5 DIN fitting on one end and an M16 x 1.5 xxxxxxxxx fitting (fill in the X's) on the other end. Finally 477 209 071D (return line to tank) has an M14 x 1.5 xxxxxxxx fitting (again fill in the X's) on one end and then it terminates onto the tube on the tank.

Any information as to the type and style of these connectors would be helpful and recommended points of purchase would be a bonus.

Thank You

I had trouble with fuel lines as well, although not the same ones. Id see if you can't get a decent used one for starters, alot better than $300, and at least you will have something. Thats what I did, and I haven't had any trouble with mine.

After much searching I fianlly chose the easy route for the fuel line repalcement.

I found DIN to AN adapters and the metric banjo fittings at the local hyd. supply house to fit with the accumulator and pump. I mated the banjo with a tube and soldered an AN adapter to the other end. As a final step I did what everyone does, stole the fuel line couplers form the parts Porsche in the driveway, cut them down and soldered AN fittings to the ends. Next I purchased the associated AN hose ends, some fuel injection hose from the parts store and for about $50 I have new fuel lines that I can forever replace with cheap parts.

Not the most ethical fix, but it will work.

This is from a recent post..

They have many of the fittings there.

Smoothie,
Thanks for the link. I saw that thread and took a look at them becasue I was looking to find a potential supplier for a new pump.

They do have some of the fittings, but they are missing the hardeest part to find; the fittings to match up with the male tube nut fittings on the OE fuel lines. I couldn't even find a proper spec for what those fittings are called, which leads me to believe that they are either some obscure DIN or a PO -Porsche Original .

But I had the Parts Porsche so I made it work. Seemed like a lot of effort for something as simple as a fuel line but that's what I expect of a Porsche.

could you cut that end off and use a flare fitting.

Yes you could cut and re-flare, but you would need a metric flaring tool, and it would still require a handfull of adapters. The other alternative would be to solder the adapter directly onto the fuel line.

I simply didn't want to cut the line ...

You couldn't get it that hot without flame or a branding iron, both of which I wouldn't want near the fuel lines. What would you use to solder with and why not braze if you do require flame. Brazing would give you a better joint and would probably tolerate the abuse of being in a car.
