Are you sure that the timing belt didn't break?

Was your car running before you changed the parts?

What are the circumstances behind the engine failing to start?

The timming belt has 1300 miles.
The parts I istalled after the car did not start.
I parked the car and 30min later it did not work.

So many reasons why...

1. DME relay died, very common for 924S/944.

2. ECU died, less likely.

3. Magnetic pick-ups on the bellhousing, aimed at the flywheel are dirty. Fairly likely. Article just published last month on this in 911 & Porsche World magazine. Pick one up!

4. Coil died. Have you checked for spark at the plugs?

Best of luck!

Have you checked to see if the timing belt has lost index, or if the camshaft is rotating.

You can check the indexing of the timing belt fairly easily, new belts stretch, and is the new belt was put on toolosse, or the resioner was not tightened properly, the belt could have jumped timing.

You can tell by checking the position of the distributor, then trying to start the car, then checking the distributor rotor again to see if it moved.

Thanks for the advice. It turned out to be a reference sensor.
