Not sure if this happens to everyone or not but it seems about every 2 yrs or so I have to replace the battery connectors.Does everyone seem to have to do this?. Now I am kind of curious if there is some sort of dielectric grease to put on the battery terminals/connectors to help with the corrosion of the connection at the battery?
Thanks

you could use vasoline instead of di-electric grease, alot cheaper. _________________ 3 928s, |

Ok I did think of trying that but I have always thought that Vaseline would not allow the power to transfer properly from the battery to the conector.
Thanks

"dielectric" actually means non-conductive. You don't even have to take my word for it - it should be in any dictionary. Vaseline should work just as well as dielectric grease on battery posts. The main difference between the two is that Vaseline is petroleum-based while dielectric grease is normally silicone-based. Silicone is better for rubber and plastic parts (connectors) and haqs higher heat endurance.
There is such a thing as conductive grease. It's black in color and very expensive - best place to find it would be a well stocked electrical supply place where professional electricians go. It's mainly meant for use on aluminum wire connections in homes/buildings. _________________ "..it's made in Germany. You know the Germans always make good stuff."

ok then so can vaseline be used on battery posts and battery connectors to prevent corrosion but still allow excellent power transfer from batt to conector?

Yes.
-and use dielectric grease specifically on multipin connectors to protect from corrosion and prevent current from traveling through the grease from one pin to another. _________________ "..it's made in Germany. You know the Germans always make good stuff."
