I have 82 924, changed out timing belt, did not turn over motor before removing, now car will not start, any ideas????????????

You are in the wrong section - try general discussions.
This section is for people to put their repair details in.

You need to line up the flywheel mark, the cam mark (the rear one) and the distributor rotor should be pointing at no.1 cylinder lead.

Most likely you're one notch out with the timing belt. Line everything up like Ozzie said then try again. (assuming you've checked for all the non-related silly little things that can prevent a car from starting...)

the camshaft mark, a stamped circle between two of the teeth needs to be alligned with the pointer of the camshaft cover. Then the cut in notch on the vbelt pulley on the cranshaft needs to be alligned with the pointer on the oil pump (triangle pointer). When you tighten the belt you have to make sure the marks do not move. Most likely why it won't start. That's what happened to me and I freaked out.
