Tigger-how do you explain the thousands of cars that are driving around all over the world that didn't have a pressure relief valve from the factory??? I have 3 different turbo cars and the Porsche is the only one that came with one from the factory. There is no additional danger in driving the 931 with the pressure relief valve disconnected.

Well, I don't have any direct experience with this to fall back on, but I thought it was worthy to mention. I tend to error on the side of caution.

Sequential,

....*Please read more carefully*....

VELOCITY pressure is 13 psi. The turbo is the pump in this case and hence the source of the flow. The Vpsi measurement was taken at the source the highest force on the system-the throttle butterfly. The turbo only sees the static pressure spike-11 psi.

I did not realize that the folks who are running 12-14 psi boost on the stock turbo are having to replace them all the time....

Tigger-your right, caution is a good thing. It's like this: yea I'd feel comfortable driving the car with the valve disconnected, but I would not go out and try to win the WRC with it disconnected.

The car is fun to drive even if you're not hammering through the gears. If someone wants to drive the car and does not have the parts or time to fool with fixing an air leak at the pressure relief valve it's far better to cap it off so that unregulated air is not entering the cylinders

But the real issue here...

...I wonder if we know what was causing the mystery squeek, flosho?

Not yet, I haven't been able to drive it since saturday nite! I've been so busy with work and school and some other things(g/f) that I haven't had any time to really look at it much.

I did however get underneath the car for a bit, and wiggled the hose that is on the POV part, the hose looks like it is kinked a little so I'm gonna see if I can straighten that out.

Also when I let it idle, and revved it up, I could not hear the POV click from on top the engine, but I used to be able to... I bought a new BOV and was going to use that instead of the stock POV but haven't had time to get that installed either. Tomorrow I'll have some time and Friday, so I'll update you then.
