I am in the process of buying a 1983 924, that is superbly maintained by the
previous owner. However, unfamiliar with driving Porsches, I found the clutch
pedal extremely heavy, compared to the french 1998 Peugeot 205 of my parents
and the Opel Astra I used to drive. The owner says there supposed to be heavy, but
how heavy is heavy? |

Non-Turbo 924s have a cable operated clutch, as opposed to the hydraulic clutches on many other cars. Compared to my turbo, my brother's Integra, a Nissan I had at one time, and a Dodge truck, the 924 has a heavy clutch. However, compared to an F350 Diesel I've driven, it not so bad.
Bottom line is if the clutch movement and engagement is smooth, then it's probably fine.
