Sorry this thread has nothing to do with my 924 or cars.
I need March 4-11 or 5-12 forgot off from work because I have 2 exams and a 20 page law paper due on the 14th and I'm busy all this week also so I want that week off. Problem is you need to give a 3 week notice and the schedule for that week is made already and too late for the notice, the manager in charge of the schedule is not the nicest guy and probably won't understand. So I"m thinking of giving an excuse asap that I can't work that week. I have to go to my grandmas funeral et etc is too obvious and they'd know I'm lying. I can't also be like oh I'll be really sick from march 4 to 12......
If I be honest and tell them I need a week off for school work and they don't give it to me I'll be screwed so I think the excuse is safer.
anyone have a really good excuse I can give to get a week off without looking like a big lier ? It has to be urgent and important, not I'm going to disneyland for a week.
If I can't get the time off I might just quit.
any help would be appreciated, thanks _________________ 78 924 sold.

Just be honest & tell 'em you need the time off to study & that you'll take it without pay. If they jack up, you've already said you'd quit anyway. If you come up with an excuse & they find out, you'll be sacked (fired) for sure! _________________ TJ

haha no I don't want extension for school I want time off of work so I have more time to study and write my term papers.
If I tell them tomorrow they can probably find someone else to fill in my spot for those days only 3 days will be missed (total 20 hours).
I really can't think of a excuse I can give them tomorow to miss that coming week.... I can't use a medical problem for the coming week and they might ask for note.
No they wouldn't find out that it's a lie if it sounds like a decent excuse it's not like like they'll hire a detective to spy on me and they won't be visiting 924.org _________________ 78 924 sold.

Very rare when honesty doesn't work out to be the best policy.

Tell them you had a nasty cheese-grating accident, and you'll be out for a week or so. Or try the "I fell in the shower and hit my head on the edge of the tub". _________________ 1998 Boxster

Yes, tell the truth - you killed off half your brain cells driving around in your exhaust fume leaking car and now need twice as long to get things done. _________________ "..it's made in Germany. You know the Germans always make good stuff."

Just tell him the truth.. Tell him that you didn't plan on taking the week off but things came up and you got really busy and now you have to crunch to get the school work done. School should obviously be your number one priority.
I don't know what line of work you're in, but maybe you can get someone to cover your shift for you, tell your boss you'll help out calling people to see if they'll work. When I was in hockey and had conflicting schedules, I even bought people lunch if they agreed to work for me.. (most wont even take it, but some do lol).
Good luck. Try the honesty thing. _________________ [This Space For Rent] |

when you are in college or uni up here, you are given a full course outline and schedule so that you can book the time needed off work in advance, this is your fault and you should work and do your school, just not sleep. _________________ 3 928s, |

Ok I'm stupid for not planning ahead. But I get paid vacation days I got March 12-25 off.
but I also need March 5-11 week off really badly which I"m working but once the schedule is printed its too late to get those days off, so its my fault I could have gotten those days off if I told them a week earlier.....
Now my only chance is to give my shifts to someone else but everyone else has tons of shifts also so I really doubt anyones going to take it....
I'm going to try the 4 hours a day sleep..... I have my good old bottle of caffeine. _________________ 78 924 sold.
