|
|
#1 Ok I know that most everyone on here uses 15W50 oil in there cars. How ever at this time I would like to stay with non-synthetic oil and around here 15w50 is only synthetic. I can easily find 20W50, is this type suffienct enough to use in our cars safely?
#2 where in Canada besides the porsche dealers can our filter be purchased no auto parts store in my area has even heard of Mahle. Mahle is best for our cars but is there another brand that is just as good?
thanks Chris.
Never mind used the search just wish the search allowed limit search ie: subject lines only. _________________ 1981 924 NA (Restoring mode)

You can go to NAPA and get a filter for something like 7.95, I always use them and have no complaints. _________________ 1987 951 - M193 Version for Japan |

I'm with him-The Napa filter is better than most.I found better pressure running it than any other auto part store brand.
I've always run castrol 20-50 semi or synth but I am switching back to full dino. I'm going to try to run Mobil dino only.
I've read castrol is not the quality of Mobil so I'll try it. My engine seems louder with the synth (I had the same type of noise effect with my tranny until I drained the synth out).
I don't believe the synth cost is worth it since I kick out a quart a week from all my highway driving. IMO
I'll going to save the dollars and put an oil-cooler in instead. _________________ 1978 924 95 mile daily driver.

I knew that positive thinking thing wouldn't work.

Consumer Reports still rates Fram as number one. You can pay a lot more, but you don't get any better filtering. _________________ 1980 924 Turbo |

I just use a dodgy old Ryco filter (sold through Repco).
But I'd swear by Mobil 1 for oil. It's brilliant stuff, no doubt. _________________ '80 924 Turbo |

NAPA Gold #1342
or AC PF56, Fram PH2870A, Motorcraft FL401, Purolator L20064, L20123 or Purolator PremiumPlus L20252, WIX 51342
The NAPA Gold 1342 I have here was manufactured by WIX/DANA.
For more options, look at this chart - http://www.trasko-usa.com/crossref.htm
You need thread size 3/4-16
That means AC Delco PF-56 and its' equivalents in other brands listed under 4.25" length
or
AC Delco PF-53 and other brand equivalents for the shorter versions listed under 3.5" length.
The actual OE filter size is length=approx. 4.75" to 5", OD=approx. 2.875" to 3.0". _________________ "..it's made in Germany. You know the Germans always make good stuff."

The taringa store what a name hmm KHAL Id love
to go there and not just to watch the water go
down the porcelain thing though thatwould be
a high point. Smoothie thats the thing Fram
filters may filter good plus they dont cost
alot though very thin skinned Ive done that twice. _________________ 1979 porsche 924 Na
