I never advertise for religion or God. God can take care of himself without my trivial contibution. My mention of God was in passing., and if you look at the first thread that was closed down, I was down playing the Religious aspect. And it was more a situation of not knowing about your prohibition about discussing religion than trying to arouse fevor. However if one cannot EVEN mention God in passing then this Board is way to PC for me, and I would NO PART OF YOU EITHER.

There is a spirtual/emotional side of humans that transcends any religion. To ban that is to ban HUMANITY itself, and what you would have left is a sterile environment.

Another point if you banned me, I wouldn't come back under any other name. Why would I want to deal with such narrow mindedness. Now what you have to consider is the benfit the enrichment as it were of your site with my presence or lack there of.

And please if you do decide to ban me, then at least give me the dignity of telling it to my face.

Start your off topic post titles with "ot:" and even then try not to go toooo far off topic.

With all due respect, your "mea culpa" subject title is misleading. It should have read: "Here, let me start another thread on the same subject and poke the little pointy-tailed guy again."

To my knowledge, there never has been a prohibition about talking religion or politics on the board. As long as it stays relatively civil. But most seem to save that for other boards and just keep the topic on cars...
oh, and the Aussies love to talk smack about their football teams. That's always fun to watch. And there's a great joke thread, mostly from the overseas guys because they have a better sense of humor than us serious capitalists. We're more interested in world domination ya' know.

Okay, I admit it....I'm off work today and got waaaay too much time on my hands. Better go mow my lawn.

Will, some of your points are well taken, but one must always remember, "Honey attracts flys, not vinegar". ...............and just to clarify, I'm not implying a bunch of flys hang out here.

The Mea Culpa refers to my admission of ignorance about your prohibitions. My post also explains my position with regards to religion and not being a cheerleader thereof. I think the point I was trying to make is that belief in a deity is part of mans humanity, and to deny even making a reference is to make oneself less than human. You might say that my mentioning God is more about telling about myself and how I feel than about religion.

I also think that there are some Constitutional issues here...One is freedom of speech and two is freedom of religion. Now I happen to get more upset about the Freedom of Speech issue than about religious issue. I believe one has a right to speak his mind, it might not get you very far but you have that right. Now I believe your probition of religious discussion is based upon the priniciple of yelling fire in a public place and with that I have no problem, as I said I am no religious cheerleader.

Quiet simply a 1969 911S. I would also like to own a 72S and a 356C Cab

You see I am one of those atavists that thinks that anything made by Porsche after 1973 is well not a REAL Porsche. I quote a noted iconoclast on another Board, "God and Ferry Porsche rested in 1974." I think that sucintly sums up how I feel. However I have a certain tolerance for people who like the later cars, allthough for the life of me I can't understand why they do? [/img]

Unfortunately, we could blame Will's demise on AppleBit (and I respectfully wish not to have to say that AppltBit - I don't know you at all but respect EVERYTHING you have done with your car, your site and this board - everyone makes mistakes and I am so over the thread you started but not were it has lead us).

So we can't entirely blame Will. BUT I DO!!!

Will, I looked through all your 13 of your posts - NONE mention a 924, NONE mention anything to do with a 924, and NONE even mention Porsche or anything directly (arguable even indirectly) related to Porsche.
EDIT: up to a minute ago! (damn I need a typing class)

The correct response to all the shit that has started would have been to post a message saying that your sorry for being sooo off topic and stating that you plan to contribute to conversation ON topic. THEN, you should have PMed the admin and asked him to lock the post. FINALLY, you would not posted for a week or two and then slowly work your way back in to the community. Thats what I would do when I make a complete ass out of myself on any board - I'm contemplating doing it now, in fact.

I can't imagine that anyone really wants you to be banned - we have no idea (outside of religious shit) what you can offer the members of the board. This board is not an opinion poll - it is primarily used to exchange facts - FACTS ABOUT 924's. On occasion, people ask for opinions - ABOUT 924's. Lets stick with that, ok?

So, now that you have spoken your mind and hopefully your peace, STFU.

Respectfully,
Skemcin

I've read and learned so much from ApplieBits posts and his site. So I am just trying to be tactful about saying:
a.) the "Terror Alert" post sucked
b.) it was the root of this issue
c.) i've lost no respect for him as a result
d.) don't hate me for my opinion
e.) can we be friends?

thanks for supporting my sentiment

As you might have caught on to by now, a large portion of the members of this board reside in English-speaking countries OTHER than the USA. Furthermore, the board itself is in Australia.

So unless you're talking about the Australian Constitution... we're just gonna laugh at you for Not Getting It. Likewise any American or otherwise ethno-centric points of view - we try to take a much bigger perspective here, and personal growth of many forms is encouraged.

Personally, I have a lot more respect for a person who can stand back and say, hey, I know what I believe - but I'm not in the least intimidated by hearing someone else's opinion, rationally stated, and in fact I look forward to a mature exchange of ideas. I might just learn something, and knowledge is power. (yes, that goes in many directions)

So I hope, given that you neither own nor intend to own any 924's, you might be here for the purpose of learning and understanding why others do want to own and enjoy such cars? Otherwise, I do have to agree with the others - what is your purpose here?

Poor SoCal.....as it turns out he was the mouse that got caught by the cat.

For you see I am the Boogey man the Boyz on the P Head Board have been trying to SIC on you...I don't Sic on anybody....

So as it stands right now the joke is on So CAl ..because he quoted me as being one of you boyz being "Hysterical"....without exactly knowing who he was quoting....

What turned the tide of my opinion in your favor, was Cheran stating that he didn't know what to think anymore and that showed some humility.

So U boyz go ahead and do what you wana do....

BTW....Will Muny is the name of the character Clint Eastwood played in the movie "The Unforgiven" which in turn can be a play on A man of wealth and taste...which comes from the Rolling Stone song Sympathy for the Devil..
