It's really not that far...

Come one, just look at that dash! That alone will probably be worth whatever the final bid turns out to be. Just think, $50 more brings you to 180hp.

Regardless, this is a very good looking original example. It has the 944 heat controls, so it should also have the later front swaybar setup. Really, the best of the 2.0L's in my opinion (aside from the GT's, which don't do much for me with appearance, but make up for it in the mechanicals <- blasphemy, I know...).

PS- I'll share the driving if you want to bring it back over a weekend.

By the way, Garthfan, what did you do to me? I ask you about an old motorcycle and then I find myself having a blast riding it through the whole winter! No more trips out to the western side of the state for a while, brrr, was that a chilly ride!

That car does look pretty good. I noticed a feew things about it.
The lower valance shows where the car was towed by the tie-down loops on the frame, and not pulled up on a flatbed by the tow loop.
The tow loop is painted red, so that is not original paint.
Dash does look good, but it is cracked in several locations.
Driver's seat is cracked. It will go fast and need repair soon.
Those spider's are impossible to clean up once they are too far gone. Either send them off to be refurbi$hed, replace them, or paint them. I plan on painting mine. Good tires, though.
Paint shows obvious wear, will look much worse in the real world.
Not a bad car, but not a "very good" one either.

Not to be harsh, I love driving my 931, but the money I've spent would have bought me a darn nice 944, a sweet garaged example with a super clean interior. I still need to do my wa$tegate...seals, paint, dash, left axle (!!!), new pads, I think my master cylinder is about to go...oh, yeah, tire$.

Well, it definitely isn't a concours car, but 931's in even this shape are getting rare. The paint is at least the original color (unless the door jams were resprayed too, I doubt it), it could just be that the front end was resprayed as the rear decal looks perfect- and those usually get omitted or put on crooked after a repaint.

The dash is one of the best I've ever seen even with the small cracks. The front valence always gets banged up, so no surprise that it needs a little attention. No surprise on the seat tear either if it's original. I don't really consider that a big deal when you can find late model 944 power leather seats in excellent shape for $400/pair. For an original 23 year old car, I wouldn't hesitate to call it "very good".

Anyway, get it!

PS- I'm a little frightened by garthfan's last message...

Really I think he just moved up to NH so he doesn't have to wear a helmet on his bike anymore!

I guess they sold it off eBay. IT's now SOLD, but wasn't to me the high bidder, as the reserve wasn't met. My max was $1750.

Not trying to say it's a bad car, but 931's can be expensive to buy, considering a 23 year hole car has 23 year old hoses and gaskets, which need to be replaced BEFORE they fail. That is expensive.

931's have a LOT of hoses, so plan on replacing them all at once, with new clamps, along with your belts, water pump, themostat, and save yourself the headaches that neglect will cause. You guys already know this stuff, but I spent years reading this website before I jumped in and won my 931 on ebay, so I want newbies to know what they are getting into.

And if you are in Knoxville, TN, avoid Beaman imports at all costs. They didn't put clamps on one of my hoses, which made it pop off, and when I fixed it, I broke my starter wire, and when I jumped off my car, I blew my clutch slave and master cylinder. Before that, they replaced my right axle when they were supposed to replace my left axle. They suck and charge a fortune to boot.
