I need some help with a part that I found will cleaning out the garage. It is weather stripping, and I believe a sunroof seal the number on the package (in three places) is 944.512.043.00, made in West Germany. If someone with PET could look it up and tell me what it is for sure I would appreciate it.

Thanks,

Tom Cooper

It sure doesn't look like a rear hatch seal, but I'll try to see if there's anyway to make it work. Maybe the wrong part number on the package.

Thanks,

Tom

You can use pelicanparts.com to look up part numbers.
They're in agreement that that part number's a rear hatch seal - http://www.pelicanparts.com/cgi-bin/ksearch/pel_search.cgi?command=DWsearch&description=944.512.043.00&I1.x=11&I1.y=7

The 944 part for the rear hatch seal is the superceed for the 924 part, and they 924 part does not look like the 944 part.

If I remember correctly, the 944 has wide lip/seal along the rear edge that the original 924 rear seal does not have.

Thanks for the help. I think that everyone is in agreement the part number on the sealed bag is for a rear hatch seal, but this is not anywhere close to a rear hatch seal. I got something that is mislabeled somewhere along the way. It looks like a sunroof seal, but does not have the felt edge. From what I can tell I think it's the trunk seal for my 914. Thanks again for the help.
