well, it didn't do all the work, but it certainly helped!
i'd already done an interview with the recruitment place that advertised the job, and the second interview was with the actual company. so I rock up and a little voice in my head said to take the parking spot directly outside the office, which I did, and I went in and introduced myself. I get ushered into the managing directors office, and the first thing he asks me is what type of car I have!
he was curious because he could hear the exhaust note!
turns out that he has at least two noteworthy cars, one of which is a lotus elise, and the guy second in command (who was also in the interview) likes monaros, and is replacing his current one with the new one next month..
the conversation was mostly job related, but dipped into cars in a few spots. talk about making an entrance!
of course, when I was leaving and he noticed it was a turbo, he commented on that too.. _________________ it's funny, but when they said "Anything is Possible", that's exactly what they meant.... |

On a sad note our friend kye left that day and preformed repeated dounuts in the parking lot. He continued untill he blew out both rear tires and zinged the motor. This lead to hoots and hollars from inside the building, when the interviewers came out to show their praise, they sliped on the still liquid rubber and fell to the ground, clunking their heads. kye is waiting for their replacements, to give yet a second interview.
Perhaps he should ride his bicycle this time. |

hehehehe.. nah, no doughnuts in the parking lot.. i'm a bit more reserved than that!
my new job title is "Team Leader - Operations" for an e-commerce company. i've never supervised people before, but they're going to train me up and get me going. it's cool, coz i'd like to get into management, but it's hard to make the jump, especially from technical support, which i'm in now.
I start next thursday, which i'm thinking will be quite surreal.. it should be good once I get the feel for the place though. _________________ it's funny, but when they said "Anything is Possible", that's exactly what they meant.... |
