Just out of interest, with the price of oil topping US$54 per barrel recently, what's everyone paying for petrol?

In the last week, I've seen it at anything from AU$0.88/litre to AU$1.09/litre (which is about US$2.90/Gallon, if I've converted correctly)

A very rough average would be 95 cents per litre but it can fluctuate by 10 cents or more per litre in a matter of hours so it's pretty hard to pin down a proper average

I know we get pretty cheap petrol here (even though everyone complains about it)

Just wondering what the rest of the world is paying...

Paid 99.9 cents/litre just yesterday for regular. BP Ultimate (98 octane) is usually about $0.09/litre more than that.

I'm about 130km west of Khal.

It's about 5.75$ per gallon here. (If I remember the conversion rates correctly. Yes, it's expensive, and it's because of all the tax on it.)
It has been high for some time, and it's a long time since it was much cheaper.

$2.13 for premium and $2.20 for diesel. SInce the Jetta gets 48 MPG we've been driving that lately. The dealership keeps sending us nice letters about buying it back because it makes 'such a wonderful used car'. Hah!

$4.75 for Teo , $5.75 for Viking . thats $50+ a fillup/week . YIKES . wheres the bus please !

you don't have to be a corporation to make ethanol -- you can make fuel alcohol in your backyard, and many people are doing just that, and running their vehicles on clean-burning alcohol instead of gasoline.

just a few suggestions , I dont know if its legal to distill alcohol where you live , but I think you should definitly look into it .

you can make moonshine , ethynol easy . sugar water and yeast is all you need . some veggy kitchen scraps might make the fungus grow better/faster , minerals etc. you get 10%-15% of shine per batch , so you need 200 gallons/6-700 liters of mash (sugar water yeast mix) stored somewhere to grow the methynol . when the acohol content gets to 12-15% in the mash its toxic to the yeast and kills it , and you need to get the alcohol out of the mash to convert the rest of the sugar to alcohol . it takes a loooong time to boil 50 gallons of water , a small still is easier to run , less fuel needed . you could even make a solar still , sunshine separates the alcohol . find enough plastic/steel/wood barrels to fill with 225 gallons of water , add sugar and yeast and let sit for 2 weeks , then bring water to 180 degrees to evaporate the alcohol .make sure the barrels are CLEAN when you start .so you know its yeast your growing and not bacteria . in the usa you need to apply for a permit from the atf . I have no idea what the rules are . YMMV ! oh there are carbs made to run alcohol , or just richen your mixture alot .perhaps look up alcohol carbs , see what the jet sizes are then see if that size is available for your carb .

Those were Nova Scotia's prices 2 years ago. We were up over $1.00 per litre for regular but it is around 90ish now. A full buck for my fuel though.

US $/gallon
87 Octane 1.85-1.92
89 Octane 1.95-2.02
93 Octane 2.05-2.12
Prices vary depending on location in town, and are about 0.05/gal cheaper in Jackson, 40 mi east of here.
