The thing I find strange is there is a bolt coming up through the bottom of the lower strut housing which appears to go into the bottom of the insert. I am pretty sure this is from a later model 944 / ...

Porsche never overstates (overstated?) their performance numbers. But I think most of it might be the tires. You probably have a lot better grip than what was delivered by the stock tires in 1987.

you mean the R12a -- that's what we call the replacement in the US.

I understand it's propane based.

You can still get R12 in US, just 6-10x more expensive than R134 (R12a about 2-3x more expens ...

I've gone with plugs 2 hotter than the manual recommends. Otherwise they tend to foul with oil after a while.

I also run a higher octane fuel to be safe with the hotter plugs.
