That wouldn't damage the coil, would it? Given the way this progressed over time, starting with installation of the new coil, makes your previous idea about too much dwell, which could definitely dama ...

Yes, I did. None of them looked too bad but I did it anyway, but no change.

Just to be double sure - you have cleaned, retightened and verified all grounding points? With electrics/electronics, esp ...

I was poking around the 123Ignition site, and they had an FAQ about misfires after driving a few miles. That's not exactly what I'm seeing (well, it sort of is, but the miles are cumulative?) Anyway, ...

I never really thought to check if the coil is getting hot, but I'll do that.

I don't have a way to measure dwell, I don't think. It would definitely be interesting to swap in another coil and see ...

I may have to. I'm running out of other options I think! I think I know a shop that knows K-Jet (I'll verify but knowing the cars they work on I suspect they do) but I'm sure they don't know the Mitt ...

OK, someone explain this to me: The problem is back

At first it was pretty subtle...just a slight stumble around 2500-3K. I tweaked my ignition map to take some advance, no real change. It se ...

That's an interesting question. I never see them discussed here, even in Porsche clubs most people just get a blank look on their face.

I have seen some US-centered discussions of the 123ignition g ...

Regarding the frequency valve, I'm no expert (AT ALL) but I had to do quite a bit of research into the lambda system while diagnosing what ended up being a bad coil (that's how much of an expert I am ...

I highly recommend you get or make a smoke tester. I found a bunch of vacuum leaks during my recent "troubles." None of them were the actual problem, but that's another subject

You c ...

Smoking would have helped diagnose it! I drove it tonight, ran perfectly. To be honest, it's never really run right until I removed the weird homebrew ignition setup and replaced it with the Mittelmo ...

Honestly, me too! I still can't believe it was the coil. That just seems too easy. I could have saved myself a lot of trouble had I tried that first, but in the long run, I'll be better for having fix ...

I was going to do that until I went down the ignition path. Which, I'm happy to report, was correct! I ordered a replacement ignition coil, because that's the one piece of the ignition puzzle that I ...

It's a Zeitronix controller, which uses a Bosch 5-wire wideband sensor. No calibration required. This is definitely NOT a wideband gauge/sensor/controller problem. There are some weird things I have t ...

I saw the video...yeah, at no/light load, you're getting very lean with no misses. Interesting...I may have been chasing the wrong stuff all this time. Wouldn't be the first time!

I did set to 9 BT ...
