I am all for synthetic. I have a Subaru Forester that I put a bunch of miles on (an '01 with 200k+) and I have been running synthetic the whole time. No smoke, doesn't burn ony oil.

| I second the exhuast noise. When the car is cold try banging on the catalytic converter with your fist if you have one (cat not fist). If it rattles that will be the problem. |
