No, there you'd actually be reading the pressure of the return flow back to the fuel tank.

I've never had to replace the Bosch starter. My solenoids on the other hand need regular attention.

If it's not stuck, the recirc valve should make a clack sound whenever the throttle is opened/closed. That's the quick-easy test.

Those rocker trim pieces were OE on some (presumably later) 924/931 (or was it only 931?).
Cars that got them also got welded-on metal tabs to hold the trim in place.

Probably not.
I'd be willing to assume that that engine doesn't also have a breather located on the side of the block like ours.
It appears to have only one, located on the valve cover instead.
