When dynoed it peaked at 8,300 RPM's - although it will pretty safely spin at 8,500.
You didn't mention lifters...I presume you are not using the OEM lifters? They are known to crack at about 7500 R ...

The 933 wasn´t able to deliver more than 180 bhp @ 7500. How much does your head flow? 180-190cfm? Making more than 200bhp is difficult given these constrains.

Tell us more about the engine. Are you revving the stock 2l to 8300? Sounds like you need different gearing if you can do 8 sec in top gear on a salt lake. 165mph is a lot by the way!

Update... Prior to seeing Dan's reply, I took drill in hand and carefully drilled the frame perimeter and installed the spoiler. So far so good. We shall see if it lasts!

Thanks Curtis. That's a big help. I'm guessing finding the side pieces for a 944 will be a lot easier than those for a 924!
