So all the louvers on the undertray open to the back but one. My first thought was it just got bent, but it is such a tidy bend it almost looks like it should be that way. Front left in picture.

1985 and drop links doesn't compute in my book.

If your chassis has the old style sway bar that uses the drop links,
I wouldn't recommend switching to the 944 style (1982+)

Yep, it is held together by three spot welds.
It is roughly;
w = 12mm,
l =65mm,
h = 20mm.
