Not stock, but we matched that with two spacers stacked (required extra-long wheel studs) in the rear on our ITB racecar...

Nah, I don't use the hairpins, just direct the ends of the 'stache into the pin holes.

I've been using the "moustache" style clip - each end picks up the holes in the pins, and then the center section clips in place over the bridge of the caliper, real nice...

Yeah, that's one of the downsides to adding on stuff like that; I've had to do similar things with my prototype, tacking on tabs to add a ground circuit for temp senders added in the various plumbing ...

We use a stock thermostat... one aftermarket rad fan - lighter, less restrictive at speed, and takes up less space in the engine bay - to help will cool-down, but not really enough to cool the car at ...

+1 to cleaning the flange, and new clamp too...

Whenever possible, I try to tighten the clamps with a nutdriver instead of a screwdriver, for more positive torquing.

Can't speak to those tire choices, since I'm only running on Ho-ho's, but size-wise I'd be inclined to use the 205's on the 6's, not 7's - save the weight/rotational inertia...

Additional info... note that the scale numbers posted are without driver, gutted car with cage, approx 3/8 tank of fuel. Things even out side-to-side better with the driver installed.
